WATSON ELECTRICAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Huggins gets nod for big punting day

On a day when few things went right for the Barton College football team, the punting team and punter Bear Huggins clicked for the Bulldogs in a 34-0 home loss to No. 13 Lenoir-Rhyne.

Huggins earned the only Watson Electrical Player of the Week bestowed by Bulldogs coaches this week, his second weekly honor for special teams this season.

Huggins kept the Bears bottled up throughout the day, averaging 39.5 yards on six punts. Twice he boomed kicks more than 50 yards with his longest at 57 yards while placing three inside the Lenoir-Rhyne 20-yard line. His only kickoff traveled 53 yards and was returned 15 yards.

For the season, Huggins is averaging 39.2 yards on 28 punts.
