Restoration NewsMedia represents a unique partnership between North Carolina's last remaining family-owned newspapers, dedicated to preserving quality local journalism in an era of media consolidation. Founded in 2019, our company was born from a shared vision to maintain independent community coverage while leveraging collective resources for sustainability.
Our flagship publication, The Wilson Times, boasts a rich 129-year history dating back to 1896 when it was founded by John D. Gold. Originally starting as Zion's Landmark in 1867, the paper evolved into one of North Carolina's most respected community newspapers, celebrating over a century of continuous publication and earning numerous awards for editorial excellence.
In partnership with The Daily Record of Dunn, we've created an innovative model that allows family-owned newspapers to thrive independently while sharing essential resources. Our five publications serve diverse communities across North Carolina, from Wilson County to Wake County, ensuring that vital local news coverage continues in an increasingly challenging media landscape.
We believe that strong communities require strong local journalism. Our experienced reporters and editors are deeply embedded in the communities they serve, providing responsible coverage of local government, education, business, and the people and events that shape daily life in our coverage areas.
